Typing a channel number directly with your remote

Many IPTV players support typing channel numbers directly with your remote's number keys, just like traditional TV — type the number and the app jumps straight to that channel.

Why this is faster than scrolling

With a large playlist, browsing a list is slow. If you already know the channel number (for example because you watch it often), typing it directly is often the fastest way to switch.

Does this work with any remote

This depends on whether your remote has number keys the app can actually receive. Standard TV remotes with digits 0-9 typically work for this out of the box, with no extra setup needed.

Channel numbers don't match what I expect

The numbering comes from your provider's playlist data, not a fixed standard. If the numbering differs from what you're used to on cable TV, that's down to how your provider built the playlist.
