TV guide (EPG) not showing in your IPTV player — how to fix it
An empty or missing TV guide (EPG) is one of the most commonly reported issues with an IPTV player, and it's almost always related to the source of the program data, not the player itself. Here are the most common causes.
1. Your Xtream provider isn't sending EPG data (or only partial data)
The TV guide in an IPTV player isn't separate from your playlist — that data is supplied by your Xtream or M3U provider itself. If the provider doesn't send an EPG feed (or an incomplete one), no player has program data to show for it. If in doubt, check whether other apps using the same credentials do show a TV guide; if not, the issue is on the source side.
2. The EPG still needs to load
With a large number of channels, it can take a moment for all program data to be fetched and processed, especially the first time you start up after adding a new playlist. Give it a moment and try opening the TV guide again.
3. Channel IDs don't match
EPG data is linked to a channel via a channel ID (tvg-id) in the playlist. If the provider uses different naming here than what the EPG feed itself expects, that specific channel is left without program data, even though the TV guide works fine for other channels. This is a mismatch on the provider's side, not something you can fix yourself in the player.
4. Timezone mismatch
Sometimes the TV guide looks "empty" when the programs are actually there — just at the wrong time, due to a timezone difference between the EPG source and your own TV. Check whether data appears if you scroll a few hours forward or back in the guide.
What always keeps working
Watching live TV itself never depends on the TV guide — the two are separate things. A missing EPG doesn't mean anything is wrong with your stream, only with the program data displayed alongside it.
